Samuel Zelig is a brand to watch out for, featuring inspired riffs on workwear and sportswear classics that drip with personality - from every fabric to each individual embellishment. Either thanks to or in spite of their maximalist design, SZ pieces play well with others, blending extremely well with both the vintage styles that inspired them and more the more contemporary pieces they evoke.
Primarily focused on knitwear, SZ produce "Uniform" style basics with extensive customization and personality, with each patch or embroidery designed in-house for each specific garment. Thanks to their unique design and shocking versatility, Samuel Zelig pieces have become a staple around our shops, easily worn as statement pieces or intermediate layers without ever feeling out of place.
The North Shorts are a tasteful summer trouser with an outstanding fit and vintage-inspired embroidery. Cut with two slash hand pockets and a bucket pocket in the rear, you don't lose out on any space or functionality just because the legs are short. They've got a medium high rise and a relaxed top block, with a natural leg opening and modest inseam. The waistband is elasticated, with an internal drawstring for even more adjustment on the fly.
The embroidery on the thighs - an American Bald Eagle and (presumably) The Devil flying a biplane, are reminiscent of flight group patches from the Second World War, and feature a high level of detail in addition to their stylized designs.
Made from a medium-lightweight cotton fabric, it's finished with a rinse to soften and shrink everything, taking some of the guesswork out of sizing and care.
Fits true to size with an elasticated drawstring waistband. Wash cold on delicate and lay flat to dry.
